Damdama Sahib also called Talwandi Sabo or Guru Ki Kashi
is a small town situated at a distance of 28 kilometers southeast
of Bathinda in the Punjab. It is one of the five sacred seats
or Takhts in Sikh religion.
In course of his return from Kurukshetra Guru Gobind Singh
visited this place. Raja Ajmer Chand together with two Mughals,
Sayyed Beg and Alaf Khan secretly attacked Guru Ji. But to
their utter astonishment Guru Ji gave them a defeat. The army
was so much influenced by magnetic personality of Guru Ji
that they became his devotees. Guru Gobind Singh Ji compiled
the final version of Guru Granth Sahib known as Damdama Sahib
Bir in 1705.
Other pilgrim places at Talwandi Sabo are Jand Sahib, Tibbi
Sahib, Likhansar and Gurusar.
